Boxed up

One of the reasons for moving is to simplify life.  Over 6 years I have managed to accumulate a storehouse of wonders which is the envy of my friends.  Or collected a lot of junk, as one of them said after a few too many wines.  Either way, the last few days have seen me knuckling down to start the process of packing.  And boy, do I have a lot of stuff!

A major culling has been taking place on possessions – basically, if I haven’t worn the item/opened the book/listened to the CD or generally used something, it is finding it’s way to the Salvos or being sold on eBay.  While this is satisfying, the urge to take something off the “Throw” pile and put it back onto the “Keep” pile is strong and has required a huge amount of willpower.  A sneaky method being employed is to invite friends round to help themselves to books and other bits and pieces.  That way (so I am reasoning) if I do decide that I want something back I can always say that it was just a loan…

Recycling is a good thing, isn’t it?

People have also commented on the fact that most of my packing boxes are from wine companies.  Personally I don’t see a problem with that.  I drank all the wine first, so what is the issue..?

Well done! Throwing away things you don’t use is definitely the best way to renew energies in your life! I do it every year! 😉
